It’s strange how two individuals from different nations can achieve something through a tournament that the governments of those nations haven’t been able to achieve even though they’ve spent years and lots of money trying to ‘negotiate’ through conferences etc.
The two individuals are Aisam-ul-Haq and Rohan Boppana, two tennis players from Pakistan and India who have managed to show us what India and Pakistan can together achieve if they look beyond their rivalry or differences. They have in fact proved it to us not in fancy suits and conferences but on a tennis court!
We have seen how cricket and hockey have been letting us down but Aisam proves it to us that with hard work and courage, Pakistanis can actually do something so incredible that would will look up to them regardless of what our image has become due to the challenges Pakistan faces. Who would have thought that a tennis player.. YES! A TENNIS PLAYER COULD DO SUCH A THING FOR PAKISTAN! We don’t even give tennis that much importance but this teaches us that it’s about time! The government needs to invest in tennis, football etc and not just cricket and hockey.
Aisam and Bopanna are heroes! They make both India and Pakistan proud! Both are winners in my books!
